Bodies.
Big, small, strong, thin, round, soft, sturdy and graceful.
What is considered desirable today?
What is considered pleasurable?
What is considered beautiful?
What is the current demand for bodies?
Which body will be “bought” more readily?
Which will be written off as unwanted, too old, past its expiration date?
Which will be placed among the luxury goods, with wealthy buyers willing to pay whatever is asked?
And which will be considered the average standard — good enough, useful enough for everyday life?
WRITTEN OFF.
How?
Why?
Who decided?
Who broke it?
Who pushed it away?
Who refused to accept it?
The Unicorn’s body, whether soft and full or slender, is wrapped in endless beauty and tenderness.
It is cherished.
Loved.
Accepted.
Always.
It has experienced life through so many different forms and colours.
It has been athletic, “desirable” and “beautiful.”
It has also built layers, created hills and gathered softness — allowing something sacred within to do its work, allowing everything around it that once seemed frightening to become less frightening.
The Unicorn’s body has always been a friend.
It rose when everything else was sleeping, when other parts had grown tired and surrendered.
It carried me through winds and storms.
It endured.
It moved.
It carried.
It supported.
It could.
It did.
Thank you, my magical Unicorn body. 🙏🏻
THANK YOU for allowing us to continue walking this path together. ❤️
